Four killed in road accidents

Four people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Natore, Jhenidah and Satkhira yesterday Our Natore correspondent reports: At least two motorcyclists were killed as a Rajshahi-bound fish laden truck hit the motorbike from behind on Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway at Tathuria of Baraigram upazila yesterday. The deceased were identified as Anowar Hossain, 38, son of Zabed Ali, of village Bangalpara of Naldanga in Natore and Ruhul Amin, 28, son of Moslem Uddin, of village Jugipara of Baghmara upazila in Rajshahi. Police arrested the truck driver Liton Ali and sized the truck from the spot. Our Jhenidah correspondent says: A schoolgirl was killed and a truck driver and a helper were injured as a speeding truck run over her and fell into a roadside ditch while she was crossing Jhenidah-Kushtia high way in front of Jhenidah Cadet College of the town yesterday. The deceased was identified as Eva Akter, 13, daughter of Imran Ali, of Istipinnagar village of Sadar upazila. She was a student of class seven of Shisukunjo School and College. The injured were admitted to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital. Our Satkhira correspondent adds: A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured as the motorcycle collided head-on with a pick up on Satkhira-Shyamnagar road at Chandipur of Shyamnagar upazila yesterday. The deceased was identified as Md Hossain Ali, 14, son of Master Nurul Haque, of village Shankarkati in Shyamnagar. The injured were admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
