Two shot in city
A trader and his friend were wounded as criminals opened fire on them in his shop in Uttar Badda area in the city last night.
The injured are --owner of the Vai Vai Rice Agency is Nahidul Islam Nahid, 28, and his friend Nazmul Hasan, 25.
Nahid was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while Nazmul was undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Nahid said criminals came to his rice shop at about 8:30pm and one of them opened fire on them. They received bullet wounds in their legs.
Nahid claimed that a few days ago, miscreants demanded ransom to him over phone.
On information, Badda police said a police team went to the spot but they could not know details of the incident till filing of this report at 11:00pm.
