FSCB formed to work for society
Different social organisations yesterday jointly launched a common platform styled “Foundation of Social Clubs in Bangladesh" (FSCB) to combat terrorism, drug abuse and other evils of society.
Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the foundation as the chief guest at Dhaka Club in the city.
He said such types of social platforms would help the government address challenges of fundamentalism, terrorism and other social problems and assured of the government's assistance.
The foundation Chairman Sadat Hossain Selim, also president of Dhaka Club Ltd, said the foundation would perform for the betterment and development of underprivileged people.
The programmes are likely to include providing scholarships to meritorious students, permanent rehabilitation of freedom fighters and promoting social values.
Other office bearers are Vice Chairmen SM Abu Tayyab, Nur Uddin Ahmed, Sharfuzzaman Topy; Treasurer Shajahan Majumder; and members Rubel Aziz, Selim Ghaffar, Shahidullah Azim, Maj Gen (retd) Jamil D Ahsan, Maj Gen (retd) Rejanur Rahman Khan, Rafiqul Anwar, Maj (retd) Badrul Ahsan, Shankar Kumar Roy, Showkat Hossain, Kazi Ashrafuddin, Arfanul Haque Rifat, SN Taher, Ayub Khan, Abdul Matin, Jubayer Hossain, Saiful Alam and AQ Ahsanullah.
