Govt breaks polls pledge
Say speakers
The government broke its election pledge of bringing change into politics, said speakers at a meeting in the city yesterday.
The country's overall political environment is looking grim due to failure of the present government and the undemocratic attitude of opposition parties, they added.
Iktedar Ahmed, former chairman of Minimum Wage Board of Ministry of Labour and Employment, chaired the meeting, organised by Shadhinota O Nagorik Adhikar Forum, with eminent educationist Prof AKM Shahnawaz presenting the keynote paper.
Prof Kamal Ataur Rahman, Advocate Monjil Morshed, Arup Rai, Ismat Kadir Gama and Nurunnahar Lucky addressed the meeting.
