Army launches tree plantation programme

Bangladesh Army launched tree plantation drive for making the countrywide tree plantation campaign a success and inspiring members of the army in this regard. Chief of the Army Staff General Mohammad Abdul Mubeen formally inaugurated the programme by planting a sapling at a maidan near central mosque of Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday. Senior army officials were present on the occasion. Later, special munajat was offered seeking success of the programme. Under the initiative, some 8,471 saplings of forest-grown, fruit-bearing, medicinal and other trees will be planted at different army installations in Dhaka city and nearby areas, said an ISPR release.
