Bombs hurled at VC's residence
Unidentified miscreants hurled two handmade bombs at the residence of Dhaka University vice chancellor (VC) during hartal hours yesterday.
The bombs thrown around 12:00pm, however, did not detonate.
Shahbagh police along with a team of Detective Branch (DB) visited the spot and defused the bombs.
A General Diary (GD) was lodged with Shahbagh Police Station in this connection.
VC Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique said the bombs were hurled to create panic.
Proctor Dr KM Saiful Islam said the incident was aimed at triggering an unstable situation on the campus during the hartal.
