Obituary
Poet and novelist Meherun Nahar Chowdhury, mother of Zakaria Kajol, city editor of the daily Inqilab, passed away due to diabetes and kidney diseases at a hospital in Kolkata on Monday at the age of 70, says a press release.
Meherun, wife of former deputy secretary Abdul Quayum Bhiyan, left behind her three sons and four daughters.
Her namaz-e-janaza will be held at Kadamtala Sangsad Balur Math at Basabo in the city at 8:30am today.
