Give more budgetary funds for challenged
Protibondhi forum urges govt
Jatiya Protibondhi Forum (JPF) leaders yesterday said that the proposed budgetary allocation for the challenged people is not sufficient.
They demanded more budgetary allocation for education materials and stipends for the challenged children.
The made the demand at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) yesterday.
Many children with disability are also underprivileged and homeless, and they should be provided with especial allowance and loans, they added.
Apart from the development of the disabled, the speakers also stressed the need for more funds in the health sector, which would allow more medical facilities and therapy for the challenged people.
The government should focus more on food security through Open Market Sale (OMS), VGD, VGF, TR, GR and FFW to eradicate poverty among the people with disability, they said.
JPF General Secretary Zowaherul Islam Mamun read out a statement at the event while its president Khandoker Zohurul Alam was in the chair.
