Woman hacked for saving fellow
A local thug allegedly hacked a woman while she was trying to save her fellow from abduction in Kalsi Dighi Par area under Bandar Police Station in the port city yesterday.
Locals said Rafiq has been stalking a girl working at a garment factory in Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ).
Rafiq along with his companions attempted to abduct the girl on her way to workplace yesterday noon.
Bithi Akhter Rosy, one of her colleagues, hindered them. Angry, Rafiq chopped Rosy with a machete leaving her seriously injured, said Kawser, a local.
Locals rescued Rosy and rushed her to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH). The criminals, however, managed to flee.
Rosy is now undergoing treatment at CMCH.
Kawsar alleged that Bandar police did not took case they wanted to file.
Officer-in-charge of Bandar Police Station, Matiur Rahman, said he will make arrangement for filing of the case and probe the allegation.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP-Bnadar) Emran Bhuian said he will take immediate step to arrest the criminals.
