Supplementary charge sheet on July 11
The Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal of Sylhet has fixed July 11 for submission of supplementary charge sheet in the killing of Shah AMS Kibria and four others to the court.
This was the 67th date given by the court as the CID could not submit the report during the last four years, said Kishore Kumar Kar, special public prosecutor of the tribunal.
“We had to pray for a fresh date as the supplementary charge sheet did not reach the tribunal till yesterday afternoon,” the public prosecutor added.
Md Mominullah, acting judge of the tribunal, fixed the date following a prayer of Kishore yesterday.
On June 20, the CID submitted the charge sheet to the Habiganj Judicial Magistrate's Court.
Nine among the 14 charge-sheeted accused are in jail custody.
Former finance minister Kibria, his nephew advocate Shah Manzurul Huda, local AL leaders Abdur Rahim, Abul Hossain and Siddique Ali were killed in a grenade attack on a public meeting at Boidderbazar of Habiganj Sadar upazila on 27 January of 2005.
