Foam factory damaged in fire
Properties worth around Tk 12 lakh were damaged in a fire at a foam factory in Nasirabad industrial area of the port city yesterday.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at Arco Foam Factory beside Bayezid Police Station road at about 6:00pm and soon engulfed the industry.
Six fire fighting units from Agrabad and Bayezid rushed to the spot and doused the fire after a one-hour effort, the sources said.
Most of the machineries, foams and raw materials were gutted in the fire, the sources added.
