Int'l literature confce from today

A three-day long international conference on literature titled 'Contemporary Literature of South Asia' will begin at Bangla Academy in the city today. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhit is expected to inaugurate the conference at the seminar room of the academy while Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad and State Minister for Cultural Affairs Advocate Promod Mankin will be present as special guests. Bangla Academy has organised the conference to introduce people with the literature of various Asian countries including China and Japan. Some renowned writers from different Asian countries will participate and deliver speeches on different topics here. Bangla Academy President and National Professor Kabir Chowdhury will preside over the inaugural session of the conference.
