Auto-rickshaw owners observe strike
Battery-run three wheeler auto-rickshaw owners observed a daylong strike in the city yesterday protesting extortion by local criminals.
Hundreds of commuters were affected as around 4,000 of the auto-rickshaws stayed off the roads and rickshaw-pullers demanded double fares.
The owners submitted a memorandum to the police and Rajshahi mayor demanding to ensure their security.
