PM says opposition's 'fair' views on caretaker issue will be taken even after passage of constitution amendment bill (June 29, 2011) Caretaker or non caretaker is not the considering issue rather the issue is trust. This trust could come through free and impartial Election Commission. So the focus has to be on a free EC. If AL can establish an EC free from all influences then people would go with them.
Sanwar Moni We cannot believe elected politicians as they are fascinated to power. BNP also said the same but AL did not agreed then. Now why AL is trying to wipe it out?
Eddo Brandis If this happens, then why the nation had to pay in past through hartals called by the PM and suffer irreparable losses. Who will compensate for them?
Abul Kashem Both parties had a bad experience about the CTG. We expressed thanks to the previous caretaker government for showing the hidden faces. We need another CTG like Fakhruddin to disclose the face of some AL leaders.
Kiron Despite all the good words, the country still feel to have the caretaker government for conducting next two terms elections to ensure justice, fairness and gradual movement with consensus of all major political parties which will create a salutary political environment.
Nasarullah Our nation has bigger problem than the CTG system. Many progressive politicians are unfortunately compromising with dream of Bangabandhu and millions of martyrs. Winning next election is more important than peoples' rights to them. Without open discussion secret deal may not be better for nation. We like PM's right actions, but not all. PM, please reconsider real issues.
Dr. Karim People elect parliament members for five years but the opposition wants to go to power before five years. It is same for both AL and BNP. Stop this undemocratic practice. Behave like people's representatives.
EB Everything is possible in politics. Once AL found that CTG is the most perfect system, now PM discovered that scrapping of CTG is the only way.
Abu Zubair We also agree with the PM that unelected people must not come to power. We urge her to be more vigilant so that some elected people act responsibly.
Dr Islam Present situation in Bangladesh do not allow us to hold the next general election under an interim government. It must be under CTG. If BNP disagreed with it, there will be no acceptability of any election in Bangladesh.
Anonymous We want an elected caretaker government if unelected people can not run the country.
Anonymous PM has made a valuable comment. Unelected people must not run the country. We appreciate your understanding. The provision for an elected caretaker government can be made. Parliament may provide it. They will be elected with the precise purpose of forming the caretaker government. We do not think that this will be difficult.
Anonymous bangalee We got the caretaker government system after a long hardship. Now it has lost its credibility to AL! BNP opposed the system when AL fought for it. Now it has earned creditability to BNP! Again the political confrontation has started on the same issue. What a fun! Mass people are the victim of such confrontation.
SU Ahmed We want to see a fair election under a caretaker or political government which will be above any question.
Abdullah al parvej I guess the problem is in the statement of the Prime Minister that the government is in favour of keeping the present cabinet or a changed one as the interim government. These lawmakers were not elected to be appointed at anytime for the caretaker government. It will not be fair if the present cabinet is kept as the interim government.
Anonymous How does an undemocratic party like AL or BNP come to power?
