Appeal for help

Mizanur Rahman, an ex-expatriate in Saudi Arabia, has been suffering from kidney diseases for six months. With both kidneys lost, the 28-year-old has been on dialysis at Al-Arafah Islami Bank Foundation Kidney Dialysis Centre and taking treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Doctors say Mizanur requires at least one kidney be transplanted immediately. Mizanur with his mother and three siblings have been living with his grandfather's family since his father died in 1993. His maternal uncles sent him abroad in 2008 but doctors in Saudi Arabia detected his kidney disease, prompting him to come back. It is not possible for Mizanur to afford the expensive treatment involving about Tk 10-12 lakh, as he already spent all the savings for treatment abroad and was the only wage earner in the four-member family. The youth appealed to well off people for financial assistance to help save his life. Contributions can be sent to Jasim Uddin, Savings Account No. 10410180090, Dutch Bangla Bank Ltd, Nawabpur Branch, Dhaka. Any contact can be made at 01811143085.
