Puja parishad protests hartal
Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad and Mahanagar Sarbojaneen Puja Committee leaders yesterday demanded withdrawal of hartal called on July 3 and July 11 as annual Jagannath Rathajatra (chariot procession) will be observed on both the days.
They said the country's Hindu community from different districts will join the processions, one of their biggest religious festivals, says a press release.
Mentionable, National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports called a half-day hartal in the city on July 3 and 12 political parities called a 30-hour hartal from July 10.
