Pak citizen held with drugs of Tk 40 lakh
Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested a Pakistani citizen with imported banned drugs worth around Tk 40 lakh from Shahjalal International Airport in the city yesterday morning, said police.
Police held Muhammad Shahabuddin, 43, around 7:00am from the first entry terminal.
OC of Airport Police Station Shamsuddin Saleh said he arrived here by a flight of Qatar Airways from Pakistan around 5:30am.
He was moving suspiciously and offered bribe to the law enforcers soon he was caught with his luggages. At one stage, he tried to run away and police held him after chasing, he added.
Police seized around 90 kg of illegal drugs from his four luggages. At a primary interrogation, the arrestees admitted that he used to bring such drugs regularly. One Motin Mollah used him as a carrier, he said.
A case was filed with Airport Police Station in this connection.
