JCD strike ends at DU
The two-day strike called by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on Dhaka University (DU) campus ended yesterday.
Meanwhile, JCD, student wing of the main opposition BNP, withdrew its programmes on the last day of the strike due to half-day hartal called by National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports.
Police sent the three JCD activists, who were arrested on charge of picketing during strike on Saturday, to court.
JCD announced the strike in protest against the naming of an under-construction female student dormitory after Begum Sufia Kamal Hall instead of Begum Khaleda Zia Hall.
