Cop commits suicide
A sub-inspector (SI) of police committed suicide by hanging himself from the overhead water pipe in the bathroom of police camp in Karnaphuli Fertiliser Company (KAFCO) in the port city yesterday.
SI Mohan Lal Dash, 52, of Gazipur, in-charge of the police camp, killed himself at about 5:00am, said Aslam Hossain, OC of Karnaphuli Police Station.
Sources in the KAFCO Police Camp said Mohan was passing days in frustration after suffering severe injuries in a road accident.
The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue autopsy, the OC said.
