Screening can cut cancer risk
Say experts
Experts at a seminar yesterday said regular check up for breast cancer can save thousands of women from the silent killer disease.
They said women having family history and aged above 40 years are at high risk. Dr Md Habibullah Talukder Ruskin, head of cancer epidemiology at National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital was the keynote speaker, says a press release.
Centre for Cancer Prevention and Research and mobile phone manufacturer Nokia jointly organised the seminar at the city's Cambrian College.
Presided over by Ln MK Bashar, chairman of Cambrian School and College, and Dr Shamsunnahar, consultant gynaecologist, also spoke.
Around 400 girls of the institution took part in the discussion.
