5 hurt in BCL factional clash at RU
Five Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men were injured in a factional clash over extortion at Rajshahi University (RU) on Saturday night.
BCL sources said the clash ensured around 11:30am between two BCL factions of Shaheed Habibur Rahman Hall-- one led by Saddam Hossain Tipu and another by Parvez Ahmed--over collecting extortion money of Tk 10,000 from Hasan, a fourth year student of the university.
Both the groups used sharp weapons, including machetes, during the clash leaving Tipu, Parvez and three other BCL men injured.
Of them, Tipu and Parvez were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Tipu lodged a general diary with Motihar Pollice Station accusing Parvez Ahmed, Imdadul Haque, Rasu Ahmed and Polash.
