Eskander gets bail in graft case
Major (Retd) Syeed Eskander, younger brother of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, was granted bail yesterday in a corruption case on his surrender to a Dhaka court.
Eskander sought bail in the case as his bail granted earlier expired yesterday.
During the hearing on the bail petition, Advocate Taherul Islam Towhid told the court that the High Court (HC) on July 24 discharged a rule issued earlier granting bail to Syeed Eskander for a period of six months or till submission of the police report.
In the order, the HC asked Syeed Eskander to surrender before the trial court and seek bail in the case.
