Bazlur Rahman's 71st birth anniversary today
Today is the 71st birth anniversary of Bazlur Rahman, a prominent journalist and former editor of the daily Sangbad, says a press release. On the occasion, Bazlur Rahman Foundation will hold a discussion and a cultural programme in Kachi Kanchar Mela auditorium in the city's Segun Bagicha on Friday. The foundation will also place wreaths at the freedom fighter's grave at the Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard this morning (Wednesday). Born at Baneshwari village in Nakla, Sherpur, in 1941, Bazlur Rahman started his journalism career in the Sangbad in 1961 after obtaining his master's degree in economics from Dhaka University. He also served in Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and the Press Council.
