Additional flights to Jeddah demanded

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet
Around 1500 Muslim devotees from Sylhet demanded additional flights to Jeddah performing Umrah this year, as the national carrier Biman could not arrange necessary seats for them. Office bearers of the Association of Travel Agencies in Bangladesh (ATAB) alleged that the Biman authorities took no initiative yet for the people where as the other carriers arranged additional flights. They said these at a press conference held at the Sylhet Press Club in the city yesterday. MA Ahad, chairman of ATAB Sylhet chapter, readout a written statement at the conference while other office bearers were present. The Dhaka-London flights of Biman can be operated via Jeddah to resolve the problem partially, the ATAB officials said.
