Provision for no bail in narcotics cases soon
The home ministry decided to propose some amendments to the narcotics control act including a provision to stop bails.
Speaking to reporters after the 50th meeting of National Smuggling Prevention Committee at her secretariat office, Home Minister Shahara Khatun said, “If the law is amended, the narcotics cases will be investigated more correctly.”
The meeting made it mandatory for investigation officers and public prosecutors to attend district level narcotics prevention committee meetings so that the district authorities can stay updated on the progress of ongoing cases, she added.
