Student falls victim to BCL supremacy at RU
A group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists severely beat up a student at Rajshahi University early yesterday, as the victim did not seek BCL's intervention in the settlement of a minor dispute.
The injured, Ismail Hosssain, a fourth year student of philosophy and resident of room no-24 at Sher-E-Bangla Hall, was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Ismail said he had an altercation with his roommate over a trifle recently and resolved it with the presence of some general students of the hall on Wednesday night.
Hearing the news, some BCL cadres of the hall led by Humayun Kabir alias Tiger, Al Amin, and Shimul Ahmed took him to room no-25 (west), as he did not call BCL men in the mediation, said Ismail. "The cadres tied me to a chair and severely hit on my chest, back, hands, and legs with iron rods. They also hit me on the head with stick”.
