PM recalls role of Sheikh Kamal
The 62nd birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was observed in a befitting manner yesterday.
AL placed wreaths at the portrait of Kamal on the Abahani Club premises in Dhanmondi and his Banani graveyard in the morning and organised a doa mahfil.
AL leaders Sheikh Selim, Kazi Zafarullah, Obaidul Quader, Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Satish Chandra Roy, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Akhtaruzzaman, Faridunnahar Laily and Mrinal Kanti Das among others were present there.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina addressed a discussion on Abahani Club premises in the afternoon recalling memories of her elder brother who was a good sports organiser and cultural activist. Sheikh Kamal actively participated in the War of Liberation in 1971.
