Rajmata Bibhu Kumari Devi of Indian State of Tripura called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban yesterday. Bibhu Kumari appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's dynamic leadership for women empowerment and development in the agriculture sector. She also congratulated Hasina for her remarkable achievements in the education and health sectors. Recalling the historic leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bibhu Kumari said the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu and his other speeches still inspire the people. PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters after the meeting. Hasina expressed her gratitude to the Indian people, especially the people of Tripura for their all out support to the Bangladesh people during the War of Liberation in 1971. She said her government is always in favour of maintaining good relations with all neighbouring countries and has been working accordingly. PM's daughter Saima Hussain Wazed, Awami League Treasurer Ashiqur Rahman, Principal Secretary MA Karim and PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were present on the occasion.
