Nazrul unique gift of Bangla literature

Industries Minister Dilip Barua yesterday said Kazi Nazrul Islam was a unique gift in Bangla literature and he was a poet of humanist. “He sang the song of unity and equality among the people,” Barua said addressing a discussion in observance of poet's 112th birth anniversary in the city. World Cultural Centre arranged the discussion at National Press Club with its chairman Dr Shawkat Ara Hossain in the chair. Registrar of the proposed International Standard University Dr Habibur Rahman Khan, Dhaka University Prof Dr Biswajit Ghosh, Prof Dr Sukomol Barua, poet Asad Chowdhury and Alamgir Kabir MP also took part in the discussion. Barua said the struggling life of Nazrul and his role against social deception, and repression inspires Bangalees again and again. Paying glowing tributes to the memory of Kazi Nazrul Islam, other discussants said he was an extraordinary poet and at the same time non-communal.
