Mannan Bhuiyan's death anniversary

Poor media coverage on Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan's 1st death anniversary surprised us. Only a few words from Dr. Akbar Ali Khan's speech, given in the memorial meeting held in Jatiya Press Club on 30th July 2011, were published in some dailies. But Mannan Bhuiyan was a veteran politician of this country who served as secretary general of BNP for 11 years. We know that BNP expelled him in September 2007, and is this the reason why our media did not cover this news? It is more surprising that the BNP leaders who were his fellow colleagues could ignore this day. In fact, nowadays who will be paid tribute and who won't depends on the choice of the party chiefs, not on the basis of his merit and contribution to the nation. But why does it affect our media? It also happens in case of other big political parties like AL. We urge the living politicians of our country to pay proper tribute to their colleagues who are no more with them in this world. It is known to all that history will set everybody in the due places in course of time.
