Early marriage foiled

An attempt to early marriage was foiled at Lal Bazar village in Domar upazila on Thursday. The marriage of Nandini Rani Rai, 12, daughter of Debendra Nath Rai of the village was fixed with Tapan Chandra Rai, 20, son of Khitish Chandra Rai at Bagdogra village of the district and took all preparations to complete the ceremony. On information, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abu Raihan Mia along with a team of upazila officials rushed to the village and stopped the marriage.
