Advance train tickets from Aug 21
Railway will begin selling of advance train tickets for different routes from Chittagong and Dhaka on August 21 to ease sufferings of the homebound people before the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The advance ticket selling will continue till August 25, Divisional Commercial Officer, Dhaka M Najmul Islam told UNB over phone.
He said special trains will be introduced on different rail routes with additional coaches in Dhaka-Chittagong route to meet the demand.
“All necessary steps have been taken. Meeting with law enforcement agencies has also been held,” he said. Tickets will be sold at the counter from 9:00am to 5:00pm for five days from August 21.
According to train timetable, tickets for August 26 trains will be sold on August 21, August 27 trains on August 22, August 28 trains on August 23, August 29 trains on August 24 and August 30 trains on August 25.
A passenger will be allowed to buy maximum four tickets, non-returnable.
