Bangabandhu- a recollection

During formative years of our independence in one fine morning I drove down to Bangabandhu-house to meet my wife's childhood favourite Naser "Dolabhai'' on the eve of his journey abroad for medical re-check. I met him entering the sitting room downstairs. After exchanging initial pleasantries, while looking around I noticed a few ordinary looking persons already seated calmly in the room. I gathered that they were victims of some kinds of social injustice and eager to meet Bangabandhu, and I also learnt Bangabandhu would not normally fail to listen to them with care and deep compassion. After a while I again took to the street to return to my office. This tiny incident may seem very insignificant in the epic character of a titanic hero like Bangabandhu's stature but to my thinking it speaks eloquently about his binding towards downtrodden segment of society he chose to lead.
