Man killed in road accident
One man was killed and three others were injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was rammed by a bus on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Alekharchar in Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased is Abul Kalam, 45, a tractor driver, of Durgapur village in the same upazila.
Witnesses said the accident occurred at about 11:00am when a Comilla-bound passenger bus of Sugandha Paribahan from Brahmanbaria hit the auto-rickshaw, leaving a man killed on the spot and injuring others.
The injured were brought to Comilla General Hospital.
Traffic movement was disrupted in the area for about two and half hours as the agitated people put barricade on the highway.
