Ctg trader stabbed to death by muggers
A trader was stabbed to death by a gang of muggers in Probarthak area under Panchlaish Police Station in the port city yesterday.
The deceased is Mohammad Shahabuddin, 55, owner of Chishtiya Steel of Parade Corner area.
Police said the miscreants stabbed him indiscriminately and snatched his mobile set in Probarthak area near Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) while he was going to see his land in Khulshi area around 6:00am.
After the incident, he went to the CMCH emergency department in a rickshaw where he succumbed to his injuries around 6:30am, the sources said.
Shahabuddin's younger brother Shahajahan said his brother might have been killed in a sequel to previous enmity over land dispute.
