One arrested allegedly for violating schoolgirl
Police arrested a person on Tuesday evening for allegedly violating a schoolgirl in Khagrachhari district town, almost two months after the incident.
The arrestee Md Russell, 25, along with two others, violated the girl on June 17 and tried to blackmail her by threatening to spread video footage of the incident, said police.
The victim's father filed a case with Khagrachhari Police Station accusing the arrestee, Prokash and Md Arif, added police.
Sub-Inspector Md Shahadat Hossain of Khagrachhari Police Station said Russell confessed to the incident during preliminary interrogation.
Al Asad Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, assistant superintendent of Police of Khagrachhari Sadar Circle, said the court sent Russell to jail yesterday.
