A Dhaka court will take into cognisance the charges against BNP Senior Vice-chairman Tarique Rahman and 29 others on August 25 in the murder case in the August 21 grenade attack. The accused were included in the supplementary charge sheet submitted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on July 3. Judge Mohammad Zohurul Hoque of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court yesterday set the date for taking into cognizance charges against the accused. The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's (CMM) Court of Dhaka issued arrest warrants against Tarique, Harris Chowdhury, BNP lawmaker Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad and nine others on July 3. But police could not arrest any of them and they submitted reports on execution of arrest warrants by August 3. Later the CMM court ordered police to publish an advertisement in two national Bangla dailies asking Tarique, elder son of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, and 11 others to surrender before it in seven days.
