Vehicles damaged
A vegetable vendor was crushed under the wheels of a bus on Dhaka-Mawa highway at Abdullahpur of South Keraniganj on the outskirts of the capital on Thursday night.
Locals damaged at least three buses and blocked the highway at 10:15am yesterday for about half an hour protesting the accident.
SI Rabiul Azam of South Keraniganj Police Station said while Aroj Ali, 42, of Nasirpara of Abdullahpur was taking food for his ailing sister, a bus of Great Bikrampur crushed him.
Locals lifted the barricade around 10:45am, as Great Bikrampur authorities assured Aroj Ali's family of compensation, said OC Abul Basher of the police station.
