MN Chowdhury, a former ambassador and father-in-law of the Foreign Secretary Mohamed Mijarul Quayes, passed away at his Banani residence in the city on Thursday at the age of 87. He left behind his wife, three daughters and one son to mourn his death, says a press release. His namaz-e-janaza was held on the CMH Mosque premises after Juma prayers yesterday. He will be buried at his village Bagha in Pabna on August 22. He was the first Bangladesh ambassador to Nepal and founding principal of the Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy. He also taught at Dhaka University.
