BGB hands over 12 Indians to BSF
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) handed over 12 Indian nationals to Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Hakimpur frontier area of Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The BGB members of Hakimpur border observation post (BOP) arrested the Indian nationals for trespassing Bangladesh territory around 2:00pm.
Lt Col Abu Bakar Abu, commanding officer (CO) of 39 BGB battalion, said the Indian citizens went to Kathakali village from Narukhakhi village of Lalgola Police Station under Murshidabad district in West Bengal by an engine boat on the Padma River but they entered Bangladesh territory mistakenly.
After a company commander level flag meeting BGB handed them over to BSF around 7:00 pm, he added.
