We do not think that India will pay any transit fee for using the Bangladeshi roads. Ferdous Jalil
Fair fares! Hopefully the earned money will be used to improve seaports, airports and railways, waterways and highways! Anonymous Bangalee
The question of transit fee was not mentioned in the treaty signed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Then why will India pay transit fees? Nasirullah Mridha
With this meager amount of fees, will Bangladesh be able to sustain maintenance cost of the long roads? Any treaty should be signed on win-win basis. Md. Kamal Uddin
What a deep love between India and PM!!! The government has finalised the deal without considering the interest of the country. What a funny patriotism of our ruling party!! Karim
Road transit from Benapole to Sutarkandi would simply make it impossible for people of North Bengal to come to Dhaka in time because of the Highway size and condition, apart from social and security problem. Anonymous
India already paid one billion dollar for the road. So, it may refuse to pay transit fee to Bangladesh. Is this a part of the treaty signed by Sheikh Hasina? We do not know because the terms of treaty were not published. Dr Islam
It sounds good that BD will earn foreign currency as transit fee from India, Nepal and Bhutan. At present the road condition even the local transportation system is unbearably bad. We don't understand how we will bear the extra load of other three countries. We should examine more carefully about the whole issue before going to a deal.
