9 shops fined in Savar
A mobile court in a drive realised Tk 92,000 in fine from nine shops for various irregularities in Savar bus stand area on Friday.
The mobile court led by executive magistrate and UNO Jahid Hossain Ponir supported by police conducted the drive at Misti Mukh shop and realised Tk 50,000 in fine for making sweets in unhygienic condition.
Later, the same court realised Tk 10,000 from Gobinda Sweetmeat, Tk 10,000 from Jagadish and Sons Mistanna Bhandar, Tk 5,000 from Maa Mistanna Bhandar for the same offence.
The court also realised, Tk 10,000 from New Star Hotel and Tk 500 from Grameen Hotel for selling adulterated and stale foods while Tk 1,000 from vegetable shopkeeper Iqbal Hossain, Tk 5,000 from Selim Meat Shop for giving less in weight and Tk 500 from Mollar Hotel for dumping garbage beside the nearby highway.
