Four food factories fined in city, Gazipur

A mobile court fined four food factories Tk 95,000 in the city and Gazipur yesterday. The court fined the factories for making food in unhygienic condition and running factories without licence of certification mark of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI) The court fined Jalal Bakery Tk 50,000, Grameen Food Products Tk 5,000, Olympia Bakery and Confectionary and Bhawal Food Products Tk 20,000 each, says a press release of the BSTI. Bhawal Food Products is located in Gazipur, while the rest are in Dhaka. A combined team of Dhaka district administration, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police led by Executive Magistrate Mohammad Al Amin and Tazin Sarowar conducted the drive in city's Chankharpul, Paltan and Majhikhali of Gazipur.
