Driver found dead in a van
Police recovered the mutilated body of a driver from a covered van parked at DIT market in Narayanganj town yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Zahidul Islam, 27, son of late Nesar Uddin of Chowkati Village under Agoiljhara Police Station in Barisal.
Police said armed muggers hijacked the covered van from Dhaka-Chittagong highway on Wednesday. It was carrying imported cotton from Chittagong to Gazipur, they added.
Muggers killed the driver and concealed his body beneath the driving seat, said police. Helper of the van is still missing.
A case was filed with Sadar Police Station in this connection.
