This govt to implement CHT peace accord
State minister tells UNDP team
State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Dipankar Talukder yesterday said the CHT Peace Accord will be implemented during the rest of the tenure of this government.
He said this when a team of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) called on him at his secretariat office, says an official release.
During the meeting, Dipankar said the government is sincere to implement the peace accord, inked about 14 years ago in December 1997.
The UNDP team appreciated the government for its efforts to implement the deal and informed the minister of their activities for development of the CHT region.
The minister requested them to continue their development activities.
UNDP Resident Representative Neal Walker, Country Director Stefan Priesner, and UNDP`s project director for development activities in CHT Henrik Larsen were present on the occasion.
