Kidnapped girl rescued from Chandpur
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Monday rescued a minor girl from Nargaon Bazar in Matlab upazila in Chandpur district, five days after she was kidnapped from Savar upazila in Dhaka.
The abductors Idris Ali, 35, and his wife Masuda Begum, 25, were also arrested.
Acting on a tip off, a Rab team conducted a drive on Baburhat-Pennai-Chandpur road at Nargaon and rescued Nirjona, 5, daughter of Khabir Uddin of Goalbari of Savar.
Police said Idris and Masuda, members of an organised gang of kidnappers, went to Khabir's house on August 31, abducted Nirjona in the evening and demanded Tk 50,000 as ransom.
Rab's drive came after Khabir lodged a general diary with Savar Police Station in this connection.
