Teesta deal in 3 months, hopes Muhith
Finance Minister AMA Muhith expects that a Teesta water agreement will be revived and signed in three months.
Muhith said the sharing of Teesta water is the most important issue for his government. “It is just that the deal has been delayed and I am not disappointed by the delay,” he told The Daily Star.
The minister anticipated that it could take up to three months to ink the deal, which has been postponed amid objections from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Muhith also said there would be further talks on Teesta. “Discussions are still going on.”
