Road crashes kill 2, injure 10

Two people were killed and 10 others injured in separate road accidents in Manikganj and Chittagong yesterday. Our Manikganj correspondent reports: A youth was killed and 10 others were injured when a Manikganj-bound bus of Shuvajatra Paribahan collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction on the Dhaka-Aricha highway at Dautia of Dhamrai upazila yesterday. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately after the accident. The injured passengers were taken to different hospitals and clinics in the area. Staff correspondent from Chittagong adds: A truck helper was killed as the driver of a truck lost his control over the steering and turned upside down after hitting a tree beside the road in Fouzdarhat area of Sitakunda in the port city yesterday. The deceased is Babu, 25, son of Nur Alam, of Colonel Hat of Pahartali Police Station.
