A Dhaka court yesterday placed 35 activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on a four-day remand in two cases filed for assaulting police and an attempt to kidnap one of them. They were arrested from city's Malibagh area on Monday while they got themselves engaged in clash with police. Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Shahdat Hossain passed the order after Sub-Inspector Zafar Ali, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced them before it with a seven-day remand prayer in each case.
