No strained relation with US over Yunus issue: FM
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni has said there exists no strained relation with the United States following the removal of Prof Muhammad Yunus from Grameen Bank.
The minister said she had had talks with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton while she had been in New York last month and invited her to visit Bangladesh.
Hillary assured that she would visit Bangladesh somewhen next year, as she would undergo busy schedule this year, she said.
Dr Dipu Moni was talking to the agency at Hamburg international airport Thursday evening prior to her departure for London en route to New York to attend the UNGA session.
Asked if there will be any meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and US President Barack Obama in New York, she said no meeting is scheduled but the two leaders may meet at the reception to be hosted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and at high-level events on "International counter-terrorism cooperation" and "Every woman every child".
